NWSL Denver announces stadium plans

Denver’s soccer scene is set for a monumental shift as Denver NWSL, in partnership with Mayor Mike Johnston, unveils plans for Santa Fe Yards—a state-of-the-art, 14,500-seat stadium dedicated to professional women’s soccer. Located at Broadway and I-25, this 14-acre development will feature a 3.5-acre recreational park and mixed-use spaces, aiming to transform an underutilized area into a vibrant community hub. Slated to open in spring 2028, Santa Fe Yards represents the largest investment in a women’s professional sports team to date, promising to create jobs, boost the local economy, and set a new standard for women’s sports facilities.

Soccer agency Name & Number has launched a collective of the top soccer content creators in North America to help brands attract more eyeballs ahead of the world cup in 2026.
In preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Mexico City’s iconic Estadio Azteca has been renamed Estadio Banorte, following a sponsorship deal with Banorte bank. This agreement includes a 2.1 billion pesos ($105 million) loan to fund ongoing renovations aimed at modernizing the stadium while preserving its historic architecture. Despite the name change, FIFA’s regulations prohibit corporate-sponsored names during the World Cup, so the venue will be referred to as Estadio Ciudad de México throughout the tournament.
